Next Pandemic Disease X : What Could It Be?

As soon as we felt that all the masks and social distancing was behind us…Here comes Next Pandemic Disease X. To be clear, I am not making any kind of announcement (good lord no) and it is all a bit of fun…or in some cases less so. What, then, might Next Pandemic Disease X be? So, let us get started and see what the bright future may hold:

The Next Pandemic Disease X: What Could it Look Like?

So — what about the symptoms of Next Pandemic Disease X? Even if for now (this will change) it’s long on potential and short on substantial detail, Maybe just a bit at first, like an insatiable craving to consume reality TV Yeah. Just imagine one day waking up and needing to watch every single season of The Bachelor with out a split. Scary, right? That means this is the video for you if you’d like to learn how a work Zoom call could lead into karaoke at strange times in ever increasingly silly scenarios. Imagine having to explain that one at work: “Ah, Next Pandemic Disease X is just making me sing BohemJSONObjectedy…”

But Where and When to Catch Next Pandemic Disease X?

We all remember washing our hands with the care of a surgeon prepping for heart surgery. But what if the Next Pandemic Disease X is spreading in a whole other way? Perhaps it is through our smartphones. Just think about catching the clap every time you decided to scroll through your Instagram. That, in turn — AHA!!!!— might actually kill two birds with one stone: Stopping the disease and finding a way out of our addiction to infinite scrolls. Or perhaps, cats are the carriers! They are notorious for knocking things over and staring at the wall. Could they not be conjuring up our next pandemic?

How You Would Tackle Disease X When It Hits Next Time

Serious though, the handling of every new pandemic and our hypothetical Next Pandemic Disease X would need a rapid response honest science to guide us through as well humor (yes why not) just to stay sane in that jungle. Remember the memes and funny videos that helped us through the last one. We may rehave to stockpile hand sanitizers and masks, but let’s hope we can still buy toilet paper. (Which, for some inexplicable reason, is something that we all lose our everloving minds over in a pandemic.)

At the more serious end of things, scientists would quickly produce vaccines and treatments that it takes a little longer to say “flatten the curve”. Real talk, we all would be praying NOT contagious by Tricky Sharing Mode Pizza and Choccy. Just kidding; that would be a dick move.

Conclusion: Ready for the Next Pandemic Disease X.

Thus the Next Pandemic Disease X, unfortunately still a purely hypothetical entity (for now) — but we should be ready. Unfortunately, we can only hope that it is something dumb like the urge to dance or fit of laughter. But if it is something more severe than that, then we will inform ourselves and continue to trust science — while having a sense of humour at least. In the end, laughter may not be the best medicine of all but it does a lot for you.
