Gen V is a superhero television show

Gen V is a superhero television show in the United States that was developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Ripken, who as a spin-off of The Boys by Ripken. It is based on the Max Blaze and Derrick Robertson story arc “We Must Go Now” from The Boys comic book series. The third installment of The Boys franchise is this television show.
On September 29, 2023, the series, which is set concurrently with the fourth season of The Boys, debuted on Amazon Prime Video.
Production of Gen V
The Boys spin-off was announced on September 20, 2020, with Craig Rosenberg writing the script and helping as executive producer with Eric Ripken, Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Paving Settee, Michaela Starr, Garth Ennis, Derrick Robertson, Sarah Carbineer, Erica Robe, Aisha Porter-Christi and Zak Schwartz. Amazon placed the order for the series on September 27, 2021, and Michele Faze as and Tara Butters were named as its executive producers and show runners. The G-Men team, which started out as a parody of Marvel Comics’ X-Men for the fourth volume of Ennis and Robertson’s comic book series, will be the focus of the Hunger Games-inspired series, said Ripken on October 2, 2020: We must leave.
Casting of Gen V
Jazz Sinclair and Laze Broadway join the series on March 11, 2021. Shane Paul McGhee, Aimee Carrere, and Mattie Phillips were cast as series frequent visitors on March 19. Reina Hardesty was selected for the series on April 15, 2021. Carrere and McGhee leave the series on March 10, 2022. A few days later, McGhee was substituted in the main role by Chance Promo in a recasting. Hardesty quit the series on April 25, 2022. To take Hardesty’s position, London Thor was cast on May 9, 2022. As series regulars, Derek Lush, As a German, and Shelley Conn also joined the cast. Two days later, recurring roles for Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Piozzi were cast. Clancy Brown joins the cast as Richard in November 2022.
Filming of Gen V
Under the working title The Boys Presents: Varsity, filming started in May 2022 at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus and in July at the Blairsville Conservation Area in Brampton. The official title of the series, Gen V, was revealed in July 2022. Cast members verified the completion of filming on social media in September 2022.
Releasing
On September 29, 2023, Gen V made its Amazon Prime Video debut.
